The Chinese smartphone manufacturer recently announced the Xiaomi Mi Max phablet that comes with a massive 6.44-inch display. Although, it has been only launched in China officially and will go on sale starting from May 17, but we can now pre-order it globally, courtesy of third-party retailers like Gearbest.
The Xiaomi Mi Max is available in Light Grey and Champagne Gold color variants on Gearbest, the Silver color option is not being sold currently. It comes in three different variants. These can be pre-ordered now and will start shipping from June 21, 2016.
- Mi Max: 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM + Snapdragon 650 SoC – US $325.89.
- Mi Max: 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM + Snapdragon 652 SoC – US $359.89.
- Mi Max: 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM + Snapdragon 652 SoC – US $499.89.
The official prices of these devices are $230, $261 and $307 (approximately, since converted from CNY to USD), respectively. Hence, in order to pre-order these Xiaomi Mi Max phablets, one needs to shell out between $100 – $190 more than the official prices in China. It certainly does look a bit on the higher side but we do need to consider in a lot of factors:
- Xiaomi will not officially launch these devices in most countries, ever!
- The competition is very tough in China and hence products are aggressively priced, so this pricing will not be the same for all markets.
- Standard shipping charges included in these prices.
- Xiaomi fanboys exist globally and hence third-party resellers are selling and shipping them worldwide.
The e-commerce portal from China delivers in most countries with free shipping. However, you could also expedite the shipping by paying nominal charges and get it within 3-7 business days. Lets have a look at the specifications and features of the device.
