Xiaomi teases Redmi Note, to go on sale on December 2 in India

Xiaomi for the first time mentions about Redmi Note on Mi India’s Facebook page. As we mentioned earlier, Redmi Note went on sale in Indonesia on November 13 and is about to enter India soon.

Today, Mi India started a contest on their facebook page where the winner (s) will get Redmi Note. Xiaomi has adopted this way of promoting their devices via social media contests and teasers in the past as well, including the Mi 3 and Redmi 1s.

Tomorrow, Xiaomi will reveal a clue about when Redmi Note will go on sale followed by many more contests throughout the week. As we know, Redmi 1s will go on sale on November 25 and it might be the last time. The company prefers selling one device at a time and we already know that when Mi 3 was discontinued before the launch of Redmi 1s. It is imminent as Redmi 1s doesn’t get sold out in seconds any more and people are looking for something different now. Check out our Redmi 1s Review as well.

Thus, Redmi Note would be sold starting December 2 as Xiaomi and Flipkart sells Mi smartphones via flash sale every Tuesday at 2pm, where you need to be registered to be able to participate for the same. We are quite confident of the release date.

Xiaomi Redmi Note is a budget phablet from the Chinese manufacturer. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LED IPS Display with 267 ppi. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 covering.  The phablet is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core MTK MT6592 processor and has Mali 450 GPU. Redmi Note weighs 199 grams and is 9.45 mm in thickness.

Redmi Note comes with 2 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. It will come preloaded with Android 4.3 JellyBean with MIUI v5 on top and will be upgraded to MIUI 6 along with Android Lollipop in the future, hopefully.

On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The rear camera has f/2.2 aperture lens and can record 1080P videos. Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with 3,100 mAh lithium polymer removable battery under the hood. It is a dual SIM phablet with only one SIM supporting 3G. The Xiaomi Redmi Note includes 3G (WCDMA)/2G (GSM), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS + AGPS as connectivity options.

So, Redmi Note will go on sale on December 2 and Redmi 1s would likely go on sale for the last time on November 25. If you are looking forward to Xiaomi Mi 4, it won’t be launching before January, 2015.
