This Indian smartphone season is all about the brands “selling their smartphones exclusively” on a particular e-commerce store. It all started with Motorola, then followed by Asus, then Xiaomi turning on the heat and recently followed by Oppo signing exclusive deals with Flipkart. Even Samsung has joined the bandwagon recently. Both Amazon and Snapdeal also had their fair share of exclusives but nothing great. Now, ZTE has inked an exclusive deal with Snapdeal.
ZTE recently teased on their Facebook page that a smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5-inch sharp HD screen with Dragontrail Glass is coming soon. The post mentioned, “What’s in the glass? Everything! ZTE India’s new phone exclusively on Snapdeal. Stay tuned” which confirms their exclusive deal with Snapdeal.
The phone in question seems to be ZTE Nubia Z5, which will supposedly launch on September 2, according to iGyaan. This smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 400 processor and has a 5-inch HD display. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies.
ZTE seems to have taken inspiration from their Chinese counterparts about selling smartphones exclusively via online stores. In this way, they hope to get noticed among the crowded Indian smartphone market. If the phone is priced reasonably between Rs 15,000-18,000, then it would have a chance to make a mark, as there is immense competition in this segment of the market.
The Redmi 1s by Xiaomi which has been priced at Rs 5,999 only will go on sale on September 2 as well.
