Xiaomi officially dropped the price of Mi 4 64GB for the second time a few days ago. However, the Mi 4 16GB price remained the same at Rs 17,999. Now, the company has announced a second price cut on it as well, and will cost only Rs 14,999 now.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 16GB was launched at Rs 19,999 which caused a huge uproar among the fans and consumers. It was mainly due to the limited storage and great value-for-money pricing on the Mi 3. Thus the pricing backfired initially. Now after two price cuts, the Mi 4 16GB is available at just Rs 14,999. To be honest, it is a great price and Xiaomi has nailed it this time. This comes on the backdrop of selling over 10 million (1 crore) Mi 4 smartphones worldwide.
As we have seen, Unboxed Mi 4 with 16GB storage will be available on Overcart.com shortly at Rs 14,599. Now, this becomes quite meaningless when you can buy the same but new at Rs 14,999. We hope Overcart reduces the price before the sale or else it will be a dud.
Xiaomi Mi 4 Specifications
The Mi 4 has a stainless steel frame wrapped around the body with chamfered edges. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display similar to the Mi 3 with very high colour gamut (84% of NTSC range). The smartphone is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 16/64GB GB internal storage with no option for expandable memory via microSD card. It will run on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Hopefully, MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop comes soon.
On the camera front, the Mi 4 has a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It has f/1.8 sensor size which is a Sony IMX214 six-element lens. It also has the capability to record 4K videos. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.8 sensor size and 80-degree wide-angle lens (Sony IMX219), which will result in better selfies and video calling.
The Mi 4 has 4G LTE (missing in Indian version), 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.5 & 5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth, GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,080 mAh battery under the hood.
